Who We Are!
The Gift Academy was founded in 2011 by Mary Latimer and her husband Lawrence, who serve as head instructors. Our flight training organization offers a week-long training event program for women, inspired by the historic WASP Women's Airforce Service Pilots program, as well as regular training throughout the year under the normal part 61 syllabus. Our training and events are held in Vernon.
As a women-focused aviation organization, our aim is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for women of all experience levels to train, network, and overcome hurdles they may encounter in their aviation journey. We work with women who are just starting out and those who have a wealth of experience. Our ultimate goal is to help women achieve their aviation goals, whether that means getting started in aviation, returning to aviation after a break, or simply finding validation in their capabilities in an environment where they are seen as individuals rather than just a number.
